Outlaw Music Festival features three legendary musicians for one incredible series of concerts that is sure to delight any fan. With timeless hits that will please even the pickiest audience members, this tour is sure to keep audiences of any age satisfied and wanting more.

Willie Nelson had to miss his initial Outlaw Music Festival tour shows due to illness, but has announced he will return tonight in Mansfield, MA for another headlining set with special guests and his son Lukas Nelson as lead performer.

Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson has earned himself an extraordinary legacy over decades of work that spans multiple genres and arenas. Co-founding Farm Aid with Neil Young and John Mellencamp while lending his iconic voice to multiple AIDS research benefits during its most perilous times was among his accomplishments; also acting in multiple films, and producing contemplative albums highlighting wisdom of age like 2017's God's Problem Child among others have added further dimensions to his success.

Nelson rose to prominence during the 1960s as one of the leaders of "outlaw country", challenging Nashville's music industry conservatism with his unique brand of country music that would influence generations of artists. His distinctive phrasing, offbeat nasal tones and leathery, bewhiskered look helped him sculpt his distinctive brand of country music into something special that went on to influence countless artists who followed in his footsteps.

Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota. In 1961 he changed to Bob Dylan after moving to New York City and playing in Greenwich Village folk clubs; his music was heavily influenced by Woody Guthrie and quickly embedded itself in political culture of that era.

Suze Rotolo, who worked for CORE and heard daily of segregationist brutality first hand on the phone. She encouraged Dylan to tell his story through song; when he did so it had an incredible impact; Pete Seeger even started performing it at his concerts while lesser-known singers included it in their sets as well.

John Mellencamp

John Mellencamp has amassed an impressive list of accolades since entering the music world: an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 12 Grammy nominations and legions of fans who frequent his concerts.

He first established himself as one of the 1980s heartland rock icons with hits like "Jack and Diane," "Hurts So Good" and "Pink Houses." Later, he blended that rock sound with imagery depicting rural family hardship to help launch Farm Aid.

He's a seventy-something liberal activist and painter from Indiana still living there today, who still takes part in several political campaigns, donates money for candidates' campaigns, and breaks records as an accomplished painter. And yet his record breaking days continue unabated.

History

From Bob Dylan's revolutionary protest songs to John Mellencamp's heartfelt depictions of small-town America, artists who perform at Outlaw Music Festival tell powerful and relatable tales that speak directly to listeners. Their work crosses genre and time boundaries while touching upon universal themes of love, loss and resilience.

Willie Nelson has proven he does not conform to expectations as he advances in age, consistently shattering boundaries. At a recent performance stop in Mansfield, Willie performed for over an hour alongside Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir and members of String Cheese Incident.
